Pune Police Destroyed Seized Drugs Worth ₹7.76 Crore At Ranjangaon MIDC

In a significant operation against narcotics, Pune City Police on Tuesday incinerated a large quantity of confiscated drugs valued at ₹7.76 crore. The substances were seized in connection with 57 cases under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act across nine police stations in the city.  


According to officials, the total weight of the destroyed narcotics stood at 788.954 kg. The haul included 748.333 kg of ganja, 1.184 kg of mephedrone, 706 grams of ephedrine, 242.4 grams of cocaine, 54.009 grams of LSD, 185 grams of charas, 21.345 kg of opium straw, 324.300 grams of heroin, and 6.578 kg of ganja-based banta tablets.  

The disposal was carried out at the Ranjangaon MIDC area in Pune district, in the presence of officials from the Pollution Control Board, Excise and Revenue Departments, forensics, and police personnel, ensuring due compliance with legal and environmental regulations.
