Meerut, March 26 – In a move to tighten security ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr, police in Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut have warned against offering namaz on streets, cautioning that violators could face criminal cases, as well as the cancellation of passports and licenses. The directive has sparked controversy, drawing a sharp reaction from Union Minister of State and Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) chief Jayant Singh Chaudhary, who criticized the measure in a post on X, saying, “Policing towards Orwellian 1984!” —a reference to the Thought Police in George Orwell’s dystopian novel Nineteen Eighty-Four. On Wednesday, Meerut police submitted a list of eight individuals to District Magistrate Dr. Vijay Kumar Singh, stating they had violated last year’s ban on street prayers during Eid. Steps have been initiated to revoke their licenses and passports. Meerut City SP Ayush Vikram Singh reaffirmed the administration’s stance, stating, “We have urged people to offer namaz at mosques or reach the Idg...

Bengaluru CEO Asks Class 5 Math Question To Gen Z Job Candidates, Results are Shocking!!!

Image
Bengaluru CEO Ashish Gupta asked Gen Z job candidates a simple Class 5 math question during interviews. Sadly, people failed at answering these properly, indicating the lack of depth of knowledge the younger generation has. The questions were fairly simple, involving questions of average speed. Surprisingly, only two people were able to get it right. Ashish further noted that these people excelled at debating social media trends, viral content, and reels, but they lacked basic problem-solving skills, logical thinking, and financial management skills. Gupta emphasised that this is indicative of an increasing gap in critical thinking, numeracy, and analytical capabilities among the younger generation. The CEO further said that lack of such skills would prove to be detrimental ahead. The LinkedIn post generated a heated argument on the internet. While many said that it is wrong to generalize, many did say that making such generalized assumptions is wrong.

Passport verification does not require charge - Says UP Police

Image
We all know that we need passport verification for going abroad. It is the police who verify various aspects of it, especially the address. Recently, one of the X users asked whether a cop can demand money for passport verification. Such cases have always come up in the past where cops demand money for verification. Recently when Abhishek Sharma, one of X users addressed the same concern to the UP Police, the following was their reply: There is no no need to give money to any police officer for passport verification, if anyone demands money then please inform us the name and posting place of the said police personnel along with the name and application number of the applicant. Necessary action will be taken, This comes as a relief to a lot of people, who think think passport making requires a lot of money. Police cannot and should not charge money for the same. Do report it if you encounter such incident.
