Conman running fake intelligence organisation arrested in UP

A man allegedly running a fake intelligence organization and duping people with forged documents has been arrested, police officials confirmed on Tuesday.  




According to a senior officer, the accused, Vijay Massey, posed as the director of a bogus outfit named 'Covert Intelligence Network Social Welfare Association' and charged hefty sums for preparing counterfeit identification documents. Acting on confidential complaints, a joint team of police and the Special Operations Group raided his office in Patel Nagar on Monday evening, leading to his arrest. Authorities also seized several forged documents and materials from the premises.  

Superintendent of Police Manush Parik stated, “We received reports that a man claiming to head an intelligence agency was misleading the public. Upon investigation, the allegations were confirmed. A case was registered, and he has been sent to jail.”

During questioning, Massey disclosed that he hails from Uttarakhand’s Champawat district and had been residing in Izzatnagar, officials added.
